Virtual Visits

Chesapeake Conservancy and the National Park Service Chesapeake Bay office have created a new Virtual Visits section filled with trips, tours, and other online experiences for those who are self-isolating in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here you can explore “Virtual Tours” of various sites in the Chesapeake Bay watershed; “Webcams” with video feeds of wildlife, scenic vistas, historic sites, etc.; “Live Stream Events” from a range of partner and agency organizations; and “Virtual River Tours” of the major rivers that flow into the Chesapeake Bay.

“It is our hope that this new section on www.FindYourChesapeake.com will enable residents of the Chesapeake Bay watershed and people from all over the nation and world to virtually

explore what makes the Chesapeake region special while staying home to help stop the spread of COVID-19,” said NPS Chesapeake Bay Superintendent Wendy O’Sullivan.

“We are adapting our current ‘Find Your Chesapeake’ strategy to provide everyone at home with a little bit of the magic of the Chesapeake,” said Chesapeake Conservancy CEO & President Joel Dunn. “With this new section, you can check out our wildlife webcams, operated in partnership with explore.org., take a virtual tour of some amazing sites of the Chesapeake, including the recently-designated National Marine Sanctuary at Mallows Bay, and more. If you need a distraction from the news, we hope this website will serve to help you through these difficult times.”
