As the only national park dedicated to presenting the performing arts, Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts hosts nearly 100 performances each summer at the Filene Center, and about 70 shows for children at the Theatre-in-the-Woods. The Barns of Wolf Trap are not part of Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts.
No matter what your age or taste in shows, you'll find something you like onstage at Wolf Trap. From May through September, multiple amphitheaters in the park present performances such as musicals, dance, opera, jazz, and popular and country music.
A good time to explore the beauty and history of the park without the crowds is October - April.
The park is open to the public from 7 a.m. to dusk every day with the following exception: the park is closed to public visitation which is not performance related during park festivals and Filene Center performances to avoid conflict among visitor use activities. This public use limit also includes the two hours prior to and one hour following park festivals and Filene Center performances.
(Note: Many places fill to capacity on busy, nice weather days, especially holiday weekends. Please call ahead or visit the official website to get the most up-to-date information before visiting.)
