In Southern Maryland, history and culture mingle on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay.
The Solomons Regional Information Center will help you find your way to Chesapeake Gateways in Southern Maryland and to this beautiful town's other attractions. Solomons is a quiet 128-year old waterfront village located in Calvert County where the Patuxent River meets the Chesapeake Bay.
Settled comfortably around a deep, protected harbor rimmed with busy marinas, the area has become a major visitor destination in historic Southern Maryland. Visit nearby Gateways, stroll the Riverwalk, sail to a sandy beach for your own private picnic, or catch a Rockfish.
(Note: Many places fill to capacity on busy, nice weather days, especially holiday weekends. Please call ahead or visit the official website to get the most up-to-date information before visiting.)
There is no admission fee to access the center.
The Center provides visitor information services. It is located directly across the Calvert Marine Museum. This facility, accredited by the American Association of Museums, offers educational exhibits, programs, and publications relating to the marine paleontology of the Calvert Cliffs, estuarine biology of the Patuxent River, and local maritime history.
