Nauticus

Nauticus combines the Chesapeake Bay's remarkable naval heritage with exciting interactive exhibits exploring the power of the sea. It features hands-on exhibits including computer and video interactives, films on a giant screen, exotic aquaria, shark touching, and national-caliber traveling exhibits.

Adjacent to Nauticus is the Battleship Wisconsin, one of the largest and last battleships ever built. Explore its deck through a self-guided or audio tour that takes visitors back in time to experience this majestic ship. Within Nauticus, travel through two centuries of naval history at the Hampton Roads Naval Museum, as seen through the eyes of the sailor in and around the great harbor of Hampton Roads. Nauticus is also home to The Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center, the Schooner Virginia, and a NOAA environmental resource center.

Activities

Nauticus includes permanent and traveling exhibits, films, educational programs, science camps, and the opportunity to pair your admission with an audio tour of the Battleship Wisconsin.

Tours include guided engine room tour, self-guided tours and the  combo ticket includes a 2 Hour Naval Base Cruise aboard the Victory Rover as well as general admission (white ticket) to Nauticus and the Battleship Wisconsin.


 

History

Berthed at Nauticus, the Battleship Wisconsin is one of the largest and last battleships ever built by the U.S. Navy. Explore its deck through a self-guided tour or, with an additional charge, our guided Topside Tour that will take you back in time to experience this majestic ship that earned five battle stars during WW II.
