Located in Calverty County, Maryland, the Bayside History Museum features exhibits and programs on the role the Chesapeake Bay environment had in shaping the cultures of the bayside communities. The Bayside History offers a variety of programs for families, children and adults. Exhibits include "Explorations of Captain John Smith" featuring the 1632 book written by Smith; an actual reproduction of a beach cottage; and our “Day at the Beach” exhibit.

Part of the museum's collection includes a rare 1632 edition of Captain John Smith’s book, The Generall Historie of Virginia, New-England, and the Summer Isles: With the Names of the Adventurers, Planters, and Governours From Their First Beginning Ano 1584 to This Present 1626.
