Talbot County Master Gardeners Native Plants Presentation

Date(s):

Wednesday, January 9, 2019 2:00 pm  - 3:30 pm

Overview:

Enjoy a lively, thought-provoking film at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels that will inspire you to value native plants.

Did you know that native plants, once established, do not require the use of chemicals such as herbicides and pesticides to maintain their beauty? Or that they don’t require extra watering from our precious supply of potable water? Did you know that our native pollinators and birds generally prefer native plants for nectar and seed?

The Talbot County Master Gardeners are proud to present a lively, thought-provoking film in mid-winter that will inspire you to value native plants for their role in creating low-maintenance, seasonally-dynamic and eco-healthy landscapes. This free, 90-minute documentary, Hometown Habitat – Stories of Bringing Nature Home, will be shown at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9 at the Van Lennep Auditorium of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels. This film is part of a series called The Meadow Project.
