Join the Sierra Club for a 8.6-mile, moderately difficult hike with views of Black Rock and Annapolis Rock.
We will pick up our series of Maryland AT hikes where we left off in the snows of last winter. This stretch will take us through forests of oak and hickory, with expansive views at Black Rock and Annapolis Rock. The trail is generally smooth with a couple of rocky or rutted areas. We will shuttle back to our parking spot (off I-70) at the hike's end*, so allow extra time for that and RSVP the hike leader. The hike is open to any adult or minor (accompanied by an adult) of adequate fitness for a multi-hour, strenuous hike. The hike is free. Bring packed lunch, plenty of water, and a snack. Sunscreen and bug repellent recommended. We will cancel hike if heavy downpours are expected. (*Note that the Sierra Club does not cover liability of car shuttles, and you drive/ride at your own risk.)
