Enjoy the new greenery among the oaks and beeches and look for birds and butterflies on this Sierra Club outing.
Did you ever wonder what happens when a military training ground gets taken over by the US Fish and Wildlife Service for research purposes?
At the North Tract of the Patuxent Research Refuge, there are miles of trails through fields and forest. You can enjoy the new greenery among the oaks and beeches and look for birds and butterflies. This 3 mile walk on natural surface trails will take about 2.5 hours. This is best suited for adults and children 8 years old and older.
