Explore Chapman State Park

Overview:

See what to discover at Chapman State Park with the PG County Sierra Club.

Stretching from the Potomac River to Mattawoman Creek in Charles County, this park includes habitats ranging from flooded wetlands to dry sands, including 1000 acres of forest. Our walk will be about 3 miles and will take about 2 hours. This walk is best for adults and children 8 years old and older.

Signup Instructions: Each participant should read the waiver and register individually. Parent/legal guardian must sign waiver for minors.

Bring: Wear long pants and sturdy, close-toed shoes. No flip-flops. Bring insect repellant and sunscreen, a water bottle and a pocket-sized snack. Binoculars are a plus.

Additional Directions: Chapman State Park is located at 3452 Ferry Place, Indian Head, MD 20640. Detailed directions to the meeting place will be sent to registrants several days before the event.
