ShoreRivers is urging the public to attend a free "town hall" style meeting in Chestertown to discuss the history of the dam, the issues with the proposed settlement, and how you can make your voice heard.
State and federal officials need to hear from you. The relicensing process is occurring now and will solidify the dam's operation for the next 50 years. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to protect the Chesapeake Bay, the Sassafras River, and our natural resources in a meaningful way. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is accepting comments until January 19.
The meeting will be held at the Chestertown Public Library.
