Enjoy Thanksgiving-inspired public programming, free and open to the public at Jamestown Settlement.
Did you know that the first Thanksgiving in North America actually took place in Virginia 400 years ago on December 4, 1619 at the place we now call Berkeley Plantation in Charles City County? American Evolution is inviting Virginian's, travelers, history lovers and Thanksgiving enthusiasts to come together for the final public gathering on December 4th, 2019 at 2 to 3 p.m. to give thanks. Join us at the Jamestown Settlement for this free event.
Stay after the ceremony to enjoy free admission to the galleries at Jamestown Settlement.
Also, The Virginia Peninsula Foodbank and American Evolution are partnering for a one-day, onsite food drive at the ceremony to benefit local area food banks. Help those in need this holiday season by bringing non-perishable food donations for the “Share the Spirit of Thanksgiving” initiative.
