The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay invites you to join them for the 2017 Chesapeake Sojourn paddle along the Patuxent River.
Friday, August 11, 2017 12:00 am
During Alliance Sojourns, families and individuals enjoy on-the-water recreational and educational activities. Evening programs focus on historical, cultural, and environmental topics related to the rivers and the Chesapeake region. These activities are complemented by interaction with local watershed associations, businesses, and governments. Each trip is designed to highlight that particular river’s beauty while exploring an issue or issues germane to the local waterway. The paddle will begin at King’s Landing in Calvert County, Maryland. We will paddle south along the Patuxent River from King’s Landing to Cremona Farm in Mechanicsville, where you will camp Saturday night. Sunday you will paddle from Cremona to Jefferson Patterson Park.
Provide your own equipment or, for your convenience, the Alliance contracted outfitter, Atlantic Kayak, will rent you a kayak, deliver your boat to the put-in site, and pick it up from the take-out site for one fee. To see prices and to rent your boat from Atlantic Kayak, visit: bit.ly/patuxentpaddle17 and click ‘private event’ on the left side of the page. Registration and more information.
